About Me

Her early dog interests were obedience training and flyball. Wendy and her English Bulldog "Boogie Man,"were Flyball Champions where they was always a crowd favorite"Boogie Man" was LA Fittest dog in 1998 sponsored by Purina Fit and Trim, and was active in fly-ball demo's including doing a fly-ball demo for the half time with the Globe Trotters. Kenya her mixed breed dog was also a Flyball champion and competed for many years.
With her current set of dogs, a Miniature Pinscher Mix name Lucy, and Daisy her Chihuahua mix they do Rally, and Agility even into their senior years 12 and 13 respectively. Your dogs are never too old to learn. Wendy has a soft spot for the seniors who often get overlooked in dog sports. They love to play games too.
Although training for many years, Wendy continued to pursue her knowledge of how animals learn by graduating from the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy. She now focuses on learning what works for each individual and working to meet the needs for both aspects of the human-animal partnership.
Wendy continues her education by attending animal trainer seminars and conventions to keep current of all the new training techniques which enables her to bring up to date information to my clients. One of her favorite parts of being a trainer is learning new ways to train and motivate our dogs to learn the tasks we ask of them.
Wendy teaches clients to use clear communication, positive reinforcement, and setting dogs up for success to achieve training goals.
Wendy has worked with Pets For Vets. This organization rescues shelter dogs and trains them as companion animals for veteran. In additions she has taught classes at J9sK9s in Granda Hills, and Ventura Pet Wellness and Training Center in Ventura.

"Wendy Signorella is the the best animal trainer that I have ever worked with. She is a consummate professional as well as being heartfelt, incredibly knowledgeable and ever so kind with the animals. Wendy helped me train my Sheltie Bella, who I believed was past the point of no return, being an older girl (you know the saying). Just a few sessions of working with Wendy and I had taught Bella how to sit, something I literally believed was impossible. I was beyond amazed and delighted! Wendy not only taught me how to train my dog but also how to read my dog's behavior and communicate with her better. The whole feeling in the household improved and my dog became more relaxed and responsive because I was reading her cues better. Wendy is the only person that I will work with to train the next doggie I get".

"My husband and I acquired 2 Australian Cattle dog puppies this year and needed some professional help with training them! Needless to say, these 2 siblings are very reactive, mischievous and energetic but also smart and loving and require lot and lots of patience! After a disappointing experience with a dog training business located out of town, I looked for a local trainer who specialized in positive reinforcement and come to our home to teach. We found this and more with Wendy! She has helped us to to train and manage our pups without using aggressive means or negative reinforcement. Its exciting to see your dogs, as well as you as a trainer and owner, " get it".
Wendy is also a veterinary tech and has helped us to control our pup's weight as well as choose wholesome and nutritious, as well as tasty, foods and treats. We are also interested in agility training and have started to include this in our lessons as well. She has loads of patience with the dogs, as well as with us and is enthusiastic, positive and always encouraging! I am always impressed by Wendy at every lesson!"

“They say a good dog trainer trains the humans, not the dogs - which makes Wendy an excellent dog trainer. Slightly overwhelmed by our lively puppy Blue who just hated to be in her crate, but loved (and still loves) to tear apart socks, shoes and toys she was my patient, kind, but firm teacher on all things dog. She teaches me to look for and build on the smallest cues the dogs display, she teaches me how to break down the process into manageable steps and she teaches me patience - with the dogs, but mostly with myself. Again and again she helps me realize that it is me making the mistake, not the dogs.
Blue will now walk into her crate tail wagging - due to Wendy. Our newest addition, a frightened rescue boy shepherd that had no training (or manners) whatsoever will now sit politely at the door instead of busting through it because of Wendy.
I am planning on signing the two beasties up for the Canine Good Citizen test and feel confident they will manage fine because Wendy will teach us how to do it.
So if you want well trained dogs and confident owners contact Wendy.”

“I found Wendy Signorella after my dog had been in an intense dog fight. I was distraught and traumatized, worrying how my dog and I were going to overcome this horrible event. My dog was also new to our home so I knew I had to find the right trainer to help us with our many obstacles. Wendy came over to our home and immediately made us both feel at ease and hopeful. Wendy worked patiently with me to build a healthy routine and environment for Moo. She helped me train her on how to walk on the leash, listen to commands and interact with other dogs. Moo is thriving and is so happy thanks to Wendy Signorella. We are so fortunate to have had such a positive experience with Wendy.”

“Wendy taught us more about training in a few meetings than I had ever learned from past pet-store classes. She also included our children in the sessions so that we were all learning how to work together in a stressful situation. Wendy was compassionate and understanding of both people and pets. We will absolutely come back to Wendy the next time we integrate a new rescue dog into our home. I have confidence in Wendy's ability to help us address our training needs and build our skills with kindness and understanding.”
